Be Zanzibar Artist Residency
A creative home by the Indian Ocean
A one-week creative residency for ceramic artists, painters, and mixed-media artists to work alongside our resident artists, Mama Pottery and Kachuru.
Who we are looking for
- ●Experienced artists with a clear creative practice
- ●Curious about Zanzibari culture and island life
- ●Open to sharing skills and learning from local makers
- ●Collaborative, respectful, and comfortable working in English
The residency includes
- ●7-night complimentary stay
- ●Daily breakfast
- ●Yoga three times per week
- ●Traditional dhow sailing experience
- ●Access to Be Zanzibar facilities and creative spaces
- ●Collaboration with resident artists
- ●A final exhibition showcasing work created during the residency
The exchange
Artists contribute to a creative exchange by sharing knowledge, collaborating with local makers, and creating an original body of work during their stay. Flights, visas, insurance, and specialist materials are not included.
